1. St. Xavier’s L.P. School

The roots of St. Xavier’s L.P. School, Mapranam trace back to 1905, when Fr. Anthony Kavungal, former Vicar of Holy Cross Church, Mapranam, founded the Holy Cross L.P. School to serve the local community. Due to financial constraints, the school was later handed over to the government.

A new chapter began on 19 May 1938, when Fr. Abraham Pulikel, also a former Vicar, successfully regained the school from the government and transferred its management to the Karuvannur Convent of the Franciscan Clarist Congregation. On 1 June 1938, the institution was officially renamed St. Xavier’s L.P. School, marking the beginning of a long legacy of quality education in Mapranam.
